Project summary

The Temple at Kandi reinterprets classical Vaishnava Hindu temple architecture through a contemporary architectural language.

The vision was to design a landmark temple that reflects ISKCON’s spiritual philosophy while addressing the needs of a growing community. The project sought to preserve the sanctity and symbolism of traditional temple architecture while introducing a contemporary identity that resonates with present-day devotees and establishes a memorable architectural icon.

The design draws from ancient temple treatises, sacred geometry and proportional systems to develop a contemporary temple form. The glass-clad gopuram, lotus-inspired ceiling patterns, sculptural columns and intricate ornamentation reinterpret traditional architectural elements while preserving their symbolic significance. Landscape, circulation and interiors are carefully orchestrated to create a continuous spiritual journey from arrival to the sanctum.
